Delete your account

Two ways to do it, and the same result either way: your account and everything logged under it is removed. You do not need the app installed to ask.

This cannot be undone, and we do not keep a copy to restore from. If you want your baby's history first, export it from Settings before you delete, or take the check up summary as a printout.

In the app

  1. Open Bobbychips and go to Settings.
  2. Open the Account card.
  3. Tap Delete account & all data and confirm.

It happens immediately. You are signed out on that device, and any other device signed into the same account stops working the next time it tries to reach us.

By email, with no app installed

Write to

Send it from the email address the account uses, with the subject Delete my account. That address is how we identify the account, and it is the only thing we ask for. Do not send a password.

We action these within seven days and reply to confirm when it is done. If the address you write from has no account, we will tell you that rather than leave you waiting.

What is deleted

Everything belonging to your account and to the babies you own:

What is not, and why

Being specific here rather than claiming a clean sweep, because the two exceptions are real.

Babies shared with you by someone else

If another caregiver invited you to their baby, that baby belongs to their account, not yours. Deleting your account ends your access to it immediately and removes your devices from its notifications, but it does not delete their records. Only the owner can do that.

Disaster recovery backups

We take an encrypted backup once a week so that a failure on our side cannot lose a family's history. Those snapshots rotate, and we keep about twelve of them, so a copy of data from before your deletion can persist in a backup for up to roughly twelve weeks before it ages out. We do not restore from a backup to bring a deleted account back, and nothing in a backup is used for any other purpose.

Ending notifications without deleting anything

If the reminders are the problem rather than the account, you do not have to delete it. Settings has a pause for a single device and a pause for everything, and turning off notification permission for Bobbychips in your phone's settings stops them too. Your history stays where it is.
