Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 5, 2026
Bobbychips is a private tracker for your baby's feeds, naps, diapers,
sleep, growth, and milestones. This policy explains what information we collect, why, where it
lives, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. We keep it plain because your family's
data deserves a plain explanation. We do not sell your personal information.

1. Who we are
Bobbychips is operated by BOBBYCHIPS LLC, a Tennessee limited liability company
("Bobbychips," "we," "us," or "our"). This policy covers the Bobbychips website
(bobbychips.com), the web and mobile app (app.bobbychips.com and the
Bobbychips iOS app), and the services behind them. You can reach us any time at
[email protected].
2. Information we collect
We only collect what the app needs to work. You provide almost all of it directly.
Account information
- Email address — your login identity and where we send verification, password
reset, and (if enabled) milestone guidance emails.
- Name — optional, used to personalize the app.
- Password — if you sign up with email and password, we store only a salted,
one-way hash (PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256). We never store or see your actual password.
- Sign-in with Google or Apple — if you use social sign-in, we receive a
verified email address and a provider account identifier from Google or Apple. We do not receive
your Google/Apple password.
Baby profile and tracking data
- Baby profile you enter: name, sex, birth date, and due date.
- Tracking entries you log: feeds (bottle and nursing), naps and night sleep,
diapers (wet and dirty), solids, pumping, growth measurements (weight, length, head
circumference), developmental milestones, day notes, and free-form pre-visit check-up questions.
- Milestone photos you choose to add, stored as image files.
- Pregnancy entries, if you use Bobbychips while expecting: the due date, an
optional nickname, your prenatal appointments (including any questions and notes you write on
them), belly photos you choose to add, and the symptoms, kick counts and contraction timings
you log. This includes your own weight readings if you choose to log them, which are
information about you rather than about the baby. All of it is stored on the pregnancy
record, so anyone you have shared that record with can see it, exactly as they
can see everything else on it. You can remove a caregiver's access at any time in Settings, and
deleting the record deletes all of it.
- Meal photos you choose to attach to a solids entry, stored as image files.
On iPhone and iPad, the app can read text on a meal photo (for example a baby food pouch
label) to fill in the food names for you. That reading happens entirely on your device: the
photo is not sent to us or to anyone else for that purpose, and we do not use any photo to
train anything.
Technical information
- Push notification subscription — if you enable reminders, your browser or
device gives us a push subscription token so we can deliver notifications.
- Timezone — so schedules and reminders land at the right local time.
- IP address — used transiently to rate-limit requests and protect against
abuse. We do not build advertising or tracking profiles from it, and we do not store it.
- Sign-in history — when you sign in, we record the time, how you signed in
(password, Google, or Apple), the approximate city, state, and country our network provider
resolves for the connection, and a general device category such as “iPhone” or “Windows”. This
lets us see whether an account is being accessed from somewhere unexpected. We store only the
approximate location — never the IP address itself, and never your device's precise location.
Sign-in records are kept for 90 days. When an account is first created, the same details are
also sent to us in an internal notification email so we know the service is being used; that
notice goes to us alone and is never shared.
- Usage counts — a running count of how many requests your account makes each
hour, so we can see how much the service is being used overall. This is a number, not a history:
it records no page, no screen, and nothing about what you logged. Kept for 90 days.
Sign-in records and usage counts are deleted along with everything else when you delete your
account.
What we do not do: we do not use third-party advertising networks, and
we do not embed third-party analytics or ad trackers in the app.
3. How we use your information
- Run the core service: store your entries and compute schedule projections and countdowns.
- Send the reminders and notifications you enable (next feed, nap, bedtime, overdue alerts).
- Send transactional email: email verification and password reset codes.
- Send optional developmental-milestone guidance emails (general information; you can turn these
off in Settings).
- Enable caregiver sharing when you invite a co-parent or caregiver.
- Respond to your feedback and support requests.
- Keep the service secure: rate-limiting, abuse prevention, encrypted backups, and a record of
sign-ins so unexpected account access can be spotted.
- Understand how much the service is being used in total, so we can keep it running reliably.
We do this with our own counts. There is no third-party analytics service involved.
We process this data to provide a service you asked for, to keep it secure, and to comply with
the law.
4. Where your data is stored
Bobbychips runs on Cloudflare. Your account and settings are stored in
Cloudflare Workers KV, your tracking entries and our operational records in Cloudflare D1, and
photos in Cloudflare R2. This data is hosted in the
United States. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Because your baby's
feeding, sleep, and growth entries are health-related, we treat them as sensitive and limit access
accordingly.
5. How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
We share information only in these limited ways:
- Caregivers you invite. If you invite a co-parent or caregiver to a baby, that
person can view and add entries for that baby. You can remove their access at any time in Settings.
- Service providers (subprocessors) that operate the app on our behalf:
- Cloudflare — hosting, data storage, and content delivery.
- Resend — sending our transactional and notification emails.
- Anthropic — powering the optional AI Insights feature. When AI Insights is
on, we send an aggregated, de-identified summary of your baby's tracking data (daily counts and
averages, not individual records) to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the summary and answer
your questions. Your name and your baby's name are never included, and neither is your email
address. It is used only to produce your result and is not used to train their models. You
can turn AI Insights off in Settings.
- Google and Apple — verifying "Sign in with Google/Apple" when you choose
it.
- Push delivery services operated by Apple, Google, and Mozilla — to
deliver the notifications you enable to your device.
These providers may only use the data to perform their service for us.
- Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or
valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the service.
- Business transfer. If Bobbychips is involved in a merger, acquisition, or
sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that transaction; we will require the
recipient to honor this policy.
6. Data retention
- Daily tracking entries automatically expire from active storage about
130 days after the day they belong to.
- Push notification subscriptions expire after about 365 days
(or immediately when you disable notifications or a device unsubscribes).
- Account information, baby profiles, growth measurements, and photos are kept
until you delete them or delete your account.
- Sign-in history and usage counts are kept for 90 days and
then deleted automatically.
- Backups. We take periodic encrypted backups for disaster recovery; backup
copies are rotated and age out over time.
When you delete your account, we purge the data for the babies you own, including profiles,
entries, measurements, photos, settings, sign-in history, and usage counts.
7. Your choices and controls
- Access and review: your data is visible to you in the app (Today, History,
and Growth).
- Correct: edit or delete any entry directly in the app.
- Delete everything: Settings › Account › Delete account & all data
removes your account and the data for babies you own.
- Notifications: pause or turn off reminders in Settings, or per device.
- Milestone emails and weekly recap emails: turn either off in Settings.
- Caregiver access: add or remove caregivers, or leave a shared baby, in
Settings.
- Data requests: depending on where you live, you may have rights to access,
correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information. Email
[email protected] and we will respond as required by law.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
8. Children's privacy
Bobbychips is a tool for parents and caregivers. You must be at least 18 years
old to create an account. Information about a baby is entered by the adult account holder; the app
is not directed to children and is not intended for use by children. We do not knowingly collect
personal information directly from a child under 13. If you believe a child has created an account,
contact us and we will remove it.
9. Security
We protect your information with industry-standard measures: passwords stored only as salted
one-way hashes, encryption in transit, access controls, per-account authorization on every request,
and short-lived signed URLs for photo access. No online service can be 100% secure, but we work to
protect your data and to promptly address issues we find.
10. Data breach notification
If we become aware of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will investigate
promptly, take steps to contain and remediate it, and notify affected users and any regulators as
required by applicable law, without undue delay. Notice will be sent to the email address on your
account, so please keep it current.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the
effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Your continued use
of Bobbychips after an update means you accept the revised policy.
